Ukraine Crisis

RTAM Press Release March 2022

The invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces is the atrocity of our times,” said President Bill Cann of the Retired Teachers Association of Manitoba (RTAM). Cann spoke on behalf of RTAM’s 10,000 members.
As an organization, RTAM deplores Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and its targeting of civilians. It is a threat to world peace as Russia has chosen war over diplomacy to resolve international differences.
RTAM will support the humanitarian relief efforts by encouraging its members to make individual financial and material donations to the Red Cross or the charity of our choice. RTAM volunteers will be needed to assist Ukrainian refugees who settle in Manitoba communities.

Aid for Ukrainian refugees will be a long-term commitment for the Manitoba community” added Cann. We are proud to lend our voice to those around the world who are calling for peace during this time.
