Carol Pelton, B.A.; P.B.C.E.; Med –
Thompson, Manitoba

Carol retired from teaching in 2003 and started a second career by opening her own travel business in 2005.  Her varied teaching career saw her working in varied locales with diverse cultures and teaching assignments.  Her extensive travel and teaching experiences has given her a very global perspective.
Carol continues to be a member of several other organizations, including Business and Professional Women and Rotary.  Her involvement has provided many opportunities to develop leadership skills and to work in a collaborative setting.

She has served both as a Director and Treasurer of RTAM, as well as, working on various committees that have included Website, Public Relations, Public Advocacy, Strategic Planning, Bylaws, and Technology.
I believe that if this organization is going to continue to attract new members, membership and member services need to be a priority by highlighting the benefits of membership and the role of advocacy for its membership, improve the communication to and for its members, and to work to link our non-Chapter members either virtually or as part of a neighbourhood chapter.

Retirement is a time of transitions. Throughout your career you belonged to the Manitoba Teachers’ Society (MTS), but upon retirement you are no longer a member. The Retired Teachers’ Association of Manitoba (RTAM) exists to serve retired teachers. We invite you to join the growing number of RTAM members and enjoy the benefits of belonging.
