Rosalie Bornn, Vice President

  • I retired in June 2006 from the Mountain View School Division after a most rewarding 35-year full time teaching career in the Manitoba public school system.
  • I joined RTAM immediately upon retirement and shortly thereafter, became involved with my local Chapter of RTAM, eventually serving three years as President.
  • I have served on the RTAM Board for seven of the last nine years with experience on the Educational Advocacy/Student Awards, Pension, Membership and Chapters, KIT Editorial and Bylaws and Policy Committees.
  • I chaired the Host Committee for the 2013 RTAM AGM held in Dauphin.
  • At last year's May 2016 AGM held in Winnipeg,  I was elected President of RTAM for the 2016-17 year. My first year as President of RTAM has been a busy, challenging and exciting learning experience. At the May 2017 rural AGM held in Swan River I was re-affirmed to the position of President of RTAM for the 2017-18 year.
  • I live on acreage in rural Dauphin with my husband of 46 years, Will.
  • In my leisure time I enjoy travelling, fishing, reading, attending concerts, community volunteering, cabin life near the north end of Lake Manitoba and watching my grandson grow and thrive!
  • My second year serving as President of RTAM will permit me to continue my volunteer advocacy efforts for both the needs of and the best interests of the RTAM membership and the growing and maturing RTAM organization.

Retirement is a time of transitions. Throughout your career you belonged to the Manitoba Teachers’ Society (MTS), but upon retirement you are no longer a member. The Retired Teachers’ Association of Manitoba (RTAM) exists to serve retired teachers. We invite you to join the growing number of RTAM members and enjoy the benefits of belonging.
